Black Oak Ridge Cellars produces premier, small-batch, hand-crafted wines with single-vineyard designations that express a distinct sense of place. We select the finest grapes from exceptional, sustainably farmed, biodynamic vineyards in California and Oregon’s premier Pinot Noir AVAs. Guided by a philosophy of minimal intervention, our winemaking seeks to reveal the unique qualities and flavors of the fruit, reflecting both the terroir and the careful stewardship of our partner farmers.
Vintner
Proprietor & Vintner Ludovic Lacourte hails from a winemaking family in Château-Chalon, a small village in France’s Jura region. For over a century, generations of his family have crafted the village’s eponymous Château-Chalon, a world-renowned, small-production “Vin Jaune” prized by wine critics and enthusiasts for its unique Savagnin varietal and winemaking style.
Winemaker
G.W. Lussier is an award winning winemaker who honed his craft making fine Pinot Noir at the famed Williams Selyem. He hales from St. Helena, in the Napa Valley, where he lives with his wife and daughter.
G.W. excels at producing Grand Cru terroir-driven wines from small, sustainable, organic/biodynamic farmed vineyards. He believes that the best wine comes from the most incredible sites, expressing their unique and exemplary terroir. He makes wine that aims to honor what those sites tell us and capture the best of what the land offers.
